Davol Inc. announces the release of a new absorbable fixation system. The SORBAFIX™ Absorbable Fixation System is indicated for prosthetic mesh fixation and the approximation of soft tissue in laparoscopic and open surgeries. The SORBAFIX™ Absorbable Fixation system is pre-loaded with either 15 or 30 absorbable fasteners that are deployed via a 5 mm, low-profile delivery system. System features:

• Repair strength seven times greater than maximum intra-abdominal pressure.
  
• Unique hollow core that allows for tissue ingrowth through the interior of the fastener.
  
• Consistent diameter of the threads designed to maximize tissue engagement.
  
• Absorption of the poly (D, L) – lactide (PLA) fasteners is nearly complete at approximately 12 months post implantation, leaving less foreign material behind.
