Small abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) can remain quiescent for years, indicating that longer surveillance intervals would be clinically acceptable, researchers suggested.

In a meta-analysis of data from more than 15,000 patients, each half-centimeter increase in baseline diameter was associated with an average 0.59-mm per year increase in the growth rate, according to Simon Thompson, DSc, of the University of Cambridge, in England, and colleagues.
