Hospital Goes Live With Surgery And Critical Care Integration

High-acuity care automation solutions are set to help the facility promote patient safety and boost efficiency.

Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey, England has successfully implemented Picis integrated surgical, anesthesia, recovery room and critical care software solutions. The implementation is already helping Frimley Park improve its departments' productivity and efficiency, and further its initiatives to help improve patient safety.

Frimley Park’s adoption of the comprehensive solution, part of the Picis CareSuite® family of high-acuity solutions, is believed to be one of the most advanced uses of patient care automation solutions within the entire National Health Service (NHS).

The Picis solution allows Frimley staff to capture all relevant clinical and administrative data automatically as patients enter and pass through the preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative and critical care environments of the hospital.

It is designed to help Frimley optimize the use of nursing staff, supplies and operating room schedules as well as the clinical care process; and its analytics tools will allow performance over time to be measured and understood, thus contributing to Frimley’s advances in best practice.
