NEW YORK (AP) — Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon business said Thursday it completed its $785 million purchase of Acclarent Inc., which makes devices used in sinus surgery.

Ethicon said the deal has been cleared by the Federal Trade Commission. Ethicon, which sells surgical supplies and cosmetic medical products, agreed to buy Acclarent of Menlo Park, CA, in December.

Johnson & Johnson, based in New Brunswick, N.J., said the purchase would reduce its 2010 profit by 3 to 4 cents per share.
