Fluid Containment Pads
The multipurpose Quicksorb Spill Pad converts fluid into a gel-filled bag for easy removal and disposal and aids infection control efforts during the process. Quicksorb is ideal for use anywhere fluids need to be contained. Examples of uses include bed pans, bodily fluid, and chemical spills, but the pads can be used intraoperatively as well. A pad can be used as a liner in kidney bowls to absorb fluid and turn it into a gel during the aspiration of cysts or during cataract operations to collect the irrigation fluid runoff from the eye surgery that collects behind a patient's head. One pad can absorb approximately 350 mL of 0.9-percent saline solution and varying amounts of urine depending on content and concentration. Each pad is enclosed in a think soft cloth pouch.
