Micro Incision Nucleus Division Cannula
This new 23-gauge cannula (K7-5462) has been designed to perform micro incision nucleus division using the HydroChop technique. It features a vertically flattened tip which is easily inserted into the central core of the nucleus. The nucleus is then “hydrochopped” as a small amount of fluid is forced through the dual 0.2-mm side ports, fracturing the nucleus along the meridional stress lines. For harder nuclei, the Fukasaku Snapper Hook is used for stabilization as the HydroChop tip is inserted. This cannula can be easily used through incisions as small as 0.7 mm.
