The AER DEFENSE™ Smoke Evacuator is ConMed's new surgical smoke evacuation system for removing smoke, aerosols, and noxious odors produced during electrosurgical procedures. The AER DEFENSE™ offers four different modes of operation, which makes it more versatile and 11 percent (7dBA) quieter than the previous model. The ULPA-grade filter offers 99.9995 percent efficiency at 0.1 micron particle size with a filter life of up to 35 hours. The AER DEFENSE™, coupled with the ConMed GoldVac™ Smoke Evacuation Pencil, provides the combined benefit of protecting staff and patients from the hazards of surgical smoke in the OR.
