The hip joint is difficult to access, and to arthroscopically diagnose and repair damage to the joint the surgeon must create portals through the dense tissue surrounding the hip, while avoiding critical structures such as nerves and arteries.

Its rounded ends provide a smooth surface to protect soft tissue as it penetrates the hip and enters the joint socket. The cannula wall has been thickened to provide additional strength and prevent bending or wear and tear over time.

This device represents the first option for labral repair of the hip. The tiny anchor, threaded with ULTRABRAID Suture, is implanted into the bone of the cup of the hip joint, and enables the surgeon to close a tear or tighten labral tissue as required.
