February 16, 2005 3:57 am | Smith & Nephew, Inc. | Product Releases | CommentsSmith & Nephew has introduced its TCI (Tumescent Catheter Inversion) System for minimally invasive removal of the greater saphenous vein. Typically, varicose veins can be traced to failure of the valves in the saphenous vein. Conventional “stripping” or removing the saphenous vein can prevent varicose veins from reoccurring, but the TCI System makes this procedure less traumatic for the patient because of the solution used to infiltrate and irrigate the procedure area and flush the vein channel after its removal.
