Scissors for Lacrimal Punctoplasty

April 25, 2007 6:46 am | Katena Products, Inc. | Product Releases | Comments

The Tibolt Punctal Scissors (K4-3130) facilitates an easier and more effective two-snip lacrimal punctoplasty. When performing this procedure with conventional scissors there is a tendency for the tips to slip off, rather than engage, the dense ring of fibroelastic tissue as the blades close. To address this problem, this scissors features a conical lower blade to support the punctal ring during approximation of the blades; a textured surface to immobilize the punctal ring as pressure of approximation builds and micro grooves to engage the punctal ring while cutting.
