Codman & Shurtleff, Inc. (Codman) introduces the NEUROSCOUT™ 14 Steerable Guidewire, a newly developed steerable guidewire that facilitates the placement of diagnostic or therapeutic catheters within the neurovasculature. Neurovascular guidewires are placed inside catheters, flexible tubes that are used to carry coils or stents to treat conditions such as aneurysms and cerebral arteriovenous malformations, the two leading causes of hemorrhagic stroke.

Ranfac introduces the new “Flexie” Marrow Access System*, a marrow aspiration system to meet the demanding requirements of physicians and hospitals that have made marrow sourced stem cells a key component of their practice.   The company says that for physicians, the “Flexie” allows for: Easier access to the marrow space from an anterior or posterior position with reduced risk of unintended surgical trauma because the flexible needle will not penetrate cortical bone.

EPS recently released two filter needles with 18 and 20 gauge needles (1 ½”) for use with multi-dose IV vials and a filter aspirator with a three inch blunt needle for administering and dispensing medication from ampules. These Filter Needles and the Filter Aspirator have 5 micron filters to minimize the potential of particulate being dispensed.
