The Cincinnati Sub-Zero Head Wrap offers an innovative, non-invasive method of controlling core body temperature by cooling/heating the major blood supply to and from the brain. The versatile design of the CSZ Head Wrap permits therapy in a wide variety of clinical situations. It provides whole body cooling for patients who require mild hypothermia and it will also help maintain normothermic conditions. Since CABG (coronary artery by-pass grafting or "cabbage") patients are difficult to keep normothermic, the head wrap was developed to provide uninterrupted therapy throughout the procedure. Utilizing the CSZ Head Wrap allows for total and immediate access to the patient. It is designed to provide an effective alternative to traditional patient cooling techniques. This method of patient cooling allows for early treatment that is fast, cost-effective, and safe.
