The CleanTech IC Automated Handwashing and Monitoring System replaces the inconvenience and inconsistency of manual handwashing for preventing healthcare-acquired infections in hospitals and related facilities. This system provides a fully-automated, touchless method for handwashing, sanitizing and rinsing. Its ten-second cycle uses a non-alcohol disinfecting solution of water and Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) to virtually eliminate transient pathogens from the hands. By making handwashing quick, pleasant and easy to perform, and ensuring uniform technique, the system increases staff compliance to hand hygiene standards. Automated monitoring of handwashing compliance is provided by the system's radio-frequency identification (RFID) badge and reader technology. Its database and reporting software, combined with ethernet and wireless capability, enables the monitoring data to be downloaded automatically for storage, reporting and analysis.
