The Blanketrol® III hypo-hyperthermia system features a programmable and pre-set variable gradient temperature selection in both the cooling and heating mode to allow for rapid or gradual patient temperature management control and helps to address temperature overshoot. The patent-pending SMART feature included with the gradient setting offers the ability to have the BIII adjust the gradient temperature settings by five degrees C should the clinician not reach the desired patient temperature within 30 minutes. The BIII continues to monitor and adjust temperatures every 30 minutes until the desired patient temperature is reached.
