The Polar Wand Endoscopic Cryotherapy System offers a safe, simple means for controlled ablation of mucosal lesions of the GI tract. The endoscopist uses the Polar Wand to ablate tissue by spraying CO2 through a flexible catheter that is passed down the biopsy channel of an endoscope. This spray technology gives the endoscopist the ability to quickly treat large areas and reduce procedure time. The Polar Wand consists of a portable cryogen-containing unit and a single-use flexible cryogen spray catheter, designed for use with CO2 that is supplied in standard 5 pound cylinders. The system is FDA approved for ablation throughout the GI tract including the esophagus, stomach and rectum.
