Urethral Sling Systems
Diversified Plastics, Inc. announces a new urethral sling introducer in which the company helped with engineering and injection molding components. The introducer is to be used by surgeons to place a sling around the bladder and/or the urethra to treat stress incontinence and must fit well in the surgeon's hand to provide the proper torque to easily glide the sling into place and secure it. The sling features:
- Improved structural integrity of the introducer's handle, torque rating and manufacturability.
- Availability for both female and male urinary incontinence.
- A design for 1-time use.
- A plastic handle that includes a molded hard clamshell design comprised of a polycarbonate compound with an outer, softer thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) over molding.
