High Performance HD Camera
OPTRONICS, a developer of medical grade high definition microscope camera systems for research and clinical microscopy, announces the release of their all-new Microcast® HDXS™ full 3CCD 1920x1080 progressive scan high definition c-mount camera system for demanding research and microsurgical imaging applications.
Distinguishing features of HDXS™ include an improved 3CCD HD prism with new embedded software features enabling increased imaging performance for challenging, dynamic real-time microscope visualization and documentation applications. The Microcast® HD 1080p microscope camera systems create a 2-megapixel video that has six times more pixel resolution compared to conventional camera systems. Expanded user preset functionality increases access to multiple white balance settings that are extremely useful when imaging with different types of illumination sources. Improved color fidelity and enhanced image quality creates an improved clinical and scientific imaging experience.
The new camera system solves low-light dynamic imaging problems especially in ophthalmic microsurgery through a combination of improved image sensor sensitivity and refined exposure features. “The HDXS camera by Optronics offers superb anterior segment and posterior segment visualization in the vitreoretinal OR. Detail is astounding, the camera is user friendly, and the entire system comes at a price point which offers superb value. This is an excellent platform to consider for surgical visualization in any ophthalmic operating theater” said Christopher D. Riemann, MD a vitreoretinal surgeon and Director of the Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute.
The HDXS™ camera head is compatible with the comprehensive line of Microcast® HD camera control units and high definition recording appliances. The new compact design of the HDXS™ camera head facilitates installation on most brands and models of surgical and compound microscope systems.
