The Rebound HRD V from Minnesota Medical Development, Inc. is a self-expanding Nitinol framed/surgical mesh medical device designed for the laparoscopic repair of ventral and incisional hernias. The super-elastic Nitinol frame allows the device to be folded and inserted laparoscopically through an access port or small incision. Once deployed, the device fully unfurls or "rebounds" back to its original shapeready for quick and easy placement over the hernia defect. Benefits of the device include:
- Significantly shortened operating times by reducing fixation and organizing the mesh during the procedure.
- A condensed cPTFE material promoting tissue ingrowth and reduced adhesion formation.
- Ideal suitability for laparoscopic surgery, but the ability to also be placed via an open incisional approach.
