Dr. Homero Rivas specializes in minimally invasive surgery at the Stanford School of Medicine. He is a member of various associations, and has trained and practiced all over the world. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French. Some of his personal and professional accomplishments include:

  • Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Mexican Board of Surgery, Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Earned medical degree from the University of Juarez of the State of Durango in Mexico.

Susan Scott is a career VA Nurse with 32 years of Federal Service, employed by the South Central Veterans Health Care Network as the Acute Care Specialist. She is the program manager for SPD, Infection Control, Acute Care, Operating Room and the Skin Integrity Programs. The VA has employed her since 1979 where she began as a Graduate Registered Nurse at the Little Rock VAMC and later as a Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (WOCN), and Surgical Quality Improvement Research Liaison Nurse at the Memphis VAMC.

Ms. Scott is a native Arkansan and a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She later attended Emory University Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing program in Atlanta, GA and maintained board certification for over 20 years. She received her Masters in Nursing Degree from the University of Phoenix in 2004.

Ms. Scott served as principle investigator for the original study entitled “Assessment of Pressure Ulcers in Surgical Patients: An efficacy study.”  of the Alto table. She is a published author, researcher and speaker both nationally and internationally at numerous conferences including AORN, WOCN and the SAWC.

She has earned numerous performance and special contribution awards to include Federal Employee of the Year. In 2006, she earned the “Research Nurse Of The Year Award”  presented by the South East Region Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurses Society. As a past President of the Tennessee Nurses Association District 1 in Memphis, TN, she received the “Professional Promise Award,” and the “Alma E. Galt Leadership Awards.”

She was recognized by the American Academy of Nurses in the Raise the Voice campaign showcasing stories of nurse “Edge Runners” the practical innovators who transform America’s heath care system through nursing solutions. The original program is entitled “Perioperative Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program (PPUPP): An innovative effort to prevent pressure ulcers in surgical patients.”

Lynda Jayjohn is a 2010 graduate of the The Ohio State University Fisher Business College with a Master of Business in Operational Excellence. She earned her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She has been employed since 2003 with The Ohio State University Medical Center where she works as the Nurse Manager Robotics Education and Development. Programs offered at OSUMC include the OSU Robotic Allied Health Training Program, a program Ms. Jayjohn helped develop for nurse and surgical technicians to learn the technique of robotics in the operating room, a program for surgical education for surgeons at OSUMC and visiting surgeons, residents, anesthesia providers, and an executive robotic education program for administrators. Ms. Jayjohn has practiced in the medical field for over 30 years. Ms. Jayjohn's professional accomplishments include:

  • Invited International and National Public Speaker on topics of Robotic Surgery and Information Technology in the Operating Room.
  • Award recipient of Excellence in Patient Health Education at OSUMC
